Casual Day
Update and Seeking Charities for 2026

Update The generosity of county employees through the Casual Day program led to significant contributions for the May and June Casual Day recipients. On Fridays or designated days, employees of Macomb County may, with department leader permission, wear casual clothing if they donate at least one dollar to the monthly charity. Since the Casual Day program was initiated 21 years ago, more than $720,000 has been given to local charities and nonprofits.
May contributions provided a $696.80 check to Champ Life. Champ Life is an organization dedicated to supporting at-risk and foster children through uplifting programs and experiences. Champ Life provides a week-long summer camp where children, ages 7 to 11, can build confidence, experience joy and form positive relationships in a safe and encouraging environment.
Due to a fifth Friday in May, a special Casual Day was held May 30th to support the Clinton River Watershed Council (CRWC). The CRWC, a nonprofit organization committed to protecting and enhancing the Clinton River, its watershed and Lake St. Clair since 1972, received $237.00.
June contributions provided a $505.45 check to Six Rivers Land Conservancy. Six Rivers Land Conservancy is a private, non-profit land conservation organization working to sustain the quality and character of the natural resources around us.
Thank you to all participating county departments and employees!
