2026 Tri-County Summit

The Boards of Commissioners from Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne counties gathered on May 1 for the 17th Tri-County Summit at the Cranbrook Institute of Science to discuss key regional issues impacting local communities. The summit brought together elected officials, policy experts, and industry leaders to explore topics including clean water and climate resilience, the growth of data centers across the region, and the expanding role of artificial intelligence in local government. Panel discussions focused on stormwater management, infrastructure upgrades, environmental safeguards, zoning considerations, and best practices for implementing AI with transparency and accountability. County leaders emphasized the importance of regional collaboration, shared resources, and forward-thinking solutions to address challenges that extend beyond county borders. As the event concluded, the three county chairs reaffirmed their commitment to continued partnership and cooperative action on the issues shaping the region’s future.

Yoga at the Hill Registration Now Open

For the 11th year in a row, in partnership with Bodhi Seed Yoga & Wellness, our Yoga at the Hill is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 25th!

This free event will be held at Freedom Hill County Park, 14900 Metro Parkway, Sterling Heights, under the pavilions – rain or shine. 

Those in attendance who pre-registered will receive a free t-shirt!  All attendees are eligible for raffle prizes that are donated by Commissioners supporting their local businesses.

Led by instructors from Bodhi Seed, the schedule includes a variety of class options that accommodate all levels, including children.

Senior Spotlight: Older Adult Advisory Committee will meet at RARE

Open to the Public

The Older Adult Advisory Committee (OAAC) of the Macomb County Board of Commissioners will hold a special offsite meeting on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 3 p.m. at the Recreational Authority of Roseville and Eastpointe (RARE). During the meeting, the committee will hear from District 10 Commissioner Harold L. Haugh and District 13 Commissioner Sarah Lucido, as well as receive a presentation on the S.A.V.E.S. Project from Sergeant Gianna Currie and Brenna Hogue. The committee will also share updates on initiatives and issues affecting older adults throughout Macomb County. The meeting is open to the public and includes opportunities for public participation. The OAAC serves as an advisory group to the Board of Commissioners, helping identify and communicate challenges, trends, and opportunities impacting older adults across the county.

Seeking Applicants:
Veterans' Affairs Commission

The Macomb County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants for two terms that are expiring on the Macomb County Veterans' Affairs Commission. This position is open to residents of Macomb County who have served honorably on active duty in the United States Armed Forces. These are both 4-year terms beginning August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2030.

Applications must be received no later than 5 pm on July 14, 2026. Applicants should expect to attend the Government Oversight Committee meeting on July 21, 2026, at 3 pm for a public interview. Appointments will take place at the July 23, 2026 Full Board meeting.
