Yoga at the Hill Registration Now Open

For the 11th year in a row, in partnership with Bodhi Seed Yoga & Wellness, our Yoga at the Hill is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 25th! 
 
This free event will be held at Freedom Hill County Park, 14900 Metro Parkway, Sterling Heights, under the pavilions – rain or shine.  
 
Those in attendance who pre-registered will receive a free t-shirt!  All attendees are eligible for raffle prizes that are donated by Commissioners supporting their local businesses. 
 
Led by instructors from Bodhi Seed, the schedule includes a variety of class options that accommodate all levels, including children.

9:50 - 10:00 AM

Tri-County Green Schools Celebration

On May 6th, students from across Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne counties came together at Detroit Zoo for the Tri-County Green Schools Celebration!  
 
From exploring wildlife exhibits to learning about conservation and sustainability, students had the opportunity to celebrate their hard work and commitment to protecting our environment. We’re proud to support the next generation of green leaders making a difference in our communities!

OAAC Meeting Recap: 
 
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Recreation Authority of Roseville & Eastpointe for the May Older Adult Advisory Committee meeting. 
 
Attendees heard insightful updates from Commissioners Sarah Lucido and Harold L. Haugh, along with an informative presentation about the SAVES Project from Brenna Hogue, President and Co-Founder. 
 
Coming Up: 
 
7/28 - The next meeting of the Older Adult Advisory Committee will be held on Tuesday, July 28th at 3:00 PM in the BOC Boardroom, 1 S. Main Street, 9th Floor, Mount Clemens. The meeting will feature a presentation on the Macomb Library for the Blind and Print Disabled. 
 
9/22 - The next offsite meeting of the Older Adult Advisory Committee will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd at 3:00 PM at Warren City Hall, 1 City Square, Warren. The meeting will feature a presentation on Detroit – Area Aging & Memory Project Study.  

The OAAC meets on a regular basis and its purpose is to learn and inquire about challenges, trends, concerns and opportunities affecting older adults in the County and to communicate with the Board of Commissioners what is learned.  All OAAC meetings are open to the public. For more information about the OAAC, click "Learn More" below.

Seeking Applicants: Veterans Affairs Commission Application

The Macomb County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants for an expiring term on the Macomb County Veterans' Affairs Commission. This position is open to residents of Macomb County who have served honorably on active duty in the United States Armed Forces. This is a 4-year term running from August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2030. 
 
Applications must be received no later than 5 pm on July 14, 2026. Applicants should expect to attend the Government Oversight Committee meeting on July 21, 2026, at 3 pm for a public interview. Appointments will take place at the July 23, 2026 Full Board meeting.
